Italian wine with pizza a good idea?
Absolutely ! Italian wines pair perfectly with pizza, and you can't go wrong with a classic combination like Chianti or Montepulciano. These powerful red wines have plenty of tannin and acidity to balance out the rich, savory flavors of your favorite pies. For a white wine, try a dry Pinot Grigio or a Greco di Tufo. These crisp white wines won't overwhelm the delicate ingredients of your pizza, allowing the different flavors to come through.

Our wines that go best with pizza
We've all been tempted at least once by the appetizing look of a freshly made pizza. Neapolitan, Margherita, 4 cheeses, etc… The popularity of this Italian dish has given rise to many different varieties, as it has been adapted to the local flavors of each region.
We share with you ideas of different types of pizzas to pair with wines, depending on their ingredients.
- La Margherita (tomato, mozzarella and basil): This essential pizza that everyone loves, goes well with the white wine "POUILLY" (Cedric Bardin) . The herbal notes of Sauvignon Blanc are an ideal combination for basil, achieving great freshness and balance in the pairing.
- La Napolitaine (tomato, mozzarella and anchovies): Given the intensity of the anchovies on the palate, it is important to pair it with a medium-bodied wine that can complement its structure like our red Merlot "Domaine du Peras" .
- The 4 cheeses: One of the characteristics of this pizza is its intensity and fat, so it requires a wine with a considerable aging time in oak barrels and a good tannin content to offset the fat and create an excellent wine pairing like the "Saint Joseph" Domaine des Bertrands.
- The 4 seasons (mushrooms, black olives, ham and aubergine): A pizza with a wide variety of ingredients should ideally be associated with a versatile blend such as "Anjou village" , this red wine from the domain La part aux moines, which complements and improves the qualities of pizza and wine.
- La Hawaiienne (ham, pineapple and cheese): For those who like to contrast sweet and savory flavors and follow pairings that create an explosion in the mouth, they must combine this pizza with a good "Chardonnay" Domaine du Peras , a wine that expresses aromas of tropical fruits!
Good pizza!
