In 1878, in Labastide-Saint-Pierre, Prosper Arbeau created, with his son Jean, the company ARBEAU Père et Fils, the purpose of which was to market the products of the soil, harvested in the region.
Then, Jean-Louis and Cécile Arbeau took over. They simultaneously became traders in grains, fertilizers, fodder, wheat, but also manufacturers of brooms, canners of pickles and distillers.
In 1920, the purchase of the Château Coutinel wine estate was added, also in Labastide-Saint-Pierre.
Pierre Arbeau (1913-2002), their son, a graduate of the Ecole Supérieure de Commerce in Toulouse, developed the wine and distillery activities. It was he who gave the big boost that made the house grow.
In 1982, Pierre's son, Jean-Claude Arbeau (1946-2004), became CEO. He develops the bottling sector. The notoriety of SA Arbeau is then recognized throughout the region.
In 2002, Géraud Arbeau became the manager and since 2005, his sister Anne Arbeau joined him to run the company with him. SA ARBEAU, now SAS Vignobles ARBEAU, currently markets all qualities of red, white and rosé wines (AOP, IGP, VDF) in all packaging (bottles, Bag-in-Box, etc.).
Their business is now a local and family business. Family in the sense that partnerships have been established with families for several generations and local because the supplies come exclusively from these families who have their vines in the appellations of Fronton (Haute-Garonne and Tarn-et-Garonne) and Gaillac (Tarn ).
Concerned about respecting their land and the environment, their contribution to the family building is their commitment to sustainability.
The Vignobles Arbeau structure has been certified AB since 2019 and the Château Coutinel family estate, 52 hectares, has been HVE3 certified since the 2018 vintage and certified organic since the 2021 harvest.
From now on, by filiation and by love of the vine and wine, Château Coutinel and Vignobles Arbeau continue their development thanks to Anne and Géraud Arbeau. The wines are marketed in France and are exported to more than thirty countries.
With its motivated and dynamic management team and its 10 employees who are just as competent and serious in their field, the company Famille Arbeau has been serving its loyal customers for 125 years and will continue to do so.
