🍇 White Wine – Loire Valley

Baudry & Dutour – Le Petit Lieu‑Dit (BIO): Freshness & Brightness Sauvignon

A 100% Sauvignon Blanc cuvée that marks Baudry & Dutour's entry into the world of Val de Loire white wines with finesse: from a single plot planted in Ligré, on south-east-facing clay-limestone soil, it reveals from the moment it opens a precise and refreshing aromatic profile, typical of its terroir.

🔍 Main features:

  • Domaine : Baudry & Dutour combines the viticultural expertise of Christophe Baudry (heir of Cravant-les-Côteaux) and the oenological know-how of Jean-Martin Dutour, oenologist at Domaine du Roncée since 1993. The duo formed in 2003 around a shared vision of sustainable, plot-based viticulture.

  • Appellation : IGP Val de Loire Blanc

  • Vintage : Le Petit Lieu‑Dit 2023 (BIO)

  • Vintage : 2023

  • Capacity : 75 cl

  • Grape variety : 100% Sauvignon Blanc

  • Certifications : Organic Agriculture (AB certification), High Environmental Value (HVE), conservation agriculture practices, single cordon pruning. Night harvests to preserve the aroma of the fruit. Terroir affirmation confirmed after several years of research.

  • Vinification & aging : Direct pressing followed by settling on fine lees, low-temperature fermentation in stainless steel vats, aging on lees for several months. In addition, controlled use of sulfites (organic) is added.

  • Residual sugars : < 2 g/l (dry) according to analyses, confirmed mention “dry, < 2 g/l” by Canadian retailers.

  • Alcohol content : approx. 12% vol.

👁️ Wine profile:

  • Eye : Clear pale yellow, subtle golden reflection, brilliantly crystalline.

  • Nose : Beautiful aromatic freshness dominated by lime & grapefruit, lychee and white flowers (acacia, hawthorn), with a suggestion of fine aromatic herbs.

  • Palate : Frank attack, well-marked lemony liveliness associated with a balanced acidity; saline and mineral finish, with a chiseled character that fades gently.

🏆 Notes & distinctions:

  • 4.0 / 5 Vivino : value for money praised by users (clean & digestible sauvignons).

  • 90 / 100 – Wine-Searcher : spectral rating “White – Tropical & Balanced”, very well-referenced wines at less than €15 per bottle.

🍽️ Food & Wine Pairings:

A perfect ally for an aperitif or during light meals:

  • Marinated oysters, razor clams or cockles, smoked salmon, light ceviche

  • Fresh asparagus, spring quiches or lemony vegetable starters
💡 Suggestion : seafood platter or spring vegetable tart

🕰️ Consumption & Service:

  • Ideal temperature: 10–12°C , open a quarter of an hour before tasting to release the aromas.

  • Aging potential: best enjoyed young (2023–2026 max) to retain its liveliness and precision.

🌿 Terroir & Commitment:

  • Planted in a calcicolla clay-limestone terroir in Ligré (place called “Rouilly”), the plot expresses the minerality of the Vienne hillsides when the vine sinks its south-east-facing roots there.

  • Certified organic viticulture from the very beginning, coupled with HVE. Photography of plant covers, simple cordon pruning, night-time manual harvesting, rigorous sorting in two passes, without unnecessary interventions – reasoned right down to the box.
